Portland police search for suspect after attempted jogger abduction

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The lookup is on for a guy suspected of trying to abduct a woman who was jogging in Portland’s South Tabor community early Thursday early morning.
According to the Portland Law enforcement Bureau, a girl was jogging in close proximity to Southeast 70th Avenue and Southeast Woodward Street around 4:30 a.m. when she was approached by a male in a car or truck. The suspect reportedly started asking her for instructions — before pulling out a handgun and demanding the female get within his motor vehicle.
“She had said she was out for a jog and that a suspect drove by her once in the auto and circled all around and drove by her once again,” explained Sgt. Kevin Allen with the Portland Police Bureau. “Fortunately, she did not get in the car or truck, she was equipped to get absent.”
When officers arrived at the scene, they identified the girl hiding in a nearby bush. They searched the spot but could not discover the suspect.
