A 35-year-old woman jogging through a Merseyside park before was reportedly grabbed from behind by a man.
Police today said the woman was running through Sherdley Park, St Helens on Friday, May 20. She was then approached from behind by a man who grabbed her and attempted to pull her into a nearby woodland.
The woman resisted and it is believed that when her attacker spotted another woman walking nearby he released the woman and demanded money. She told him she had no money and he walked off towards the golf club.

A 21-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on May 23 on suspicion of attempted robbery and has been taken into custody for questioning. Merseyside Police urged anyone with information to contact them directly via @MerPolCC on Twitter, ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, or by calling 101, with reference 0539 of 20 May.
