Jogger fatally struck at crosswalk in North Bethesda, police say

A 74-12 months-old jogger was killed at a crosswalk on the Bethesda Trolley Trail on Tuckerman Lane on Thursday.

Montgomery County Law enforcement Office identified a guy who was struck and killed by a car in North Bethesda Thursday at the Bethesda Trolley Trail crossing on Tuckerman Lane
MCPD claims the man killed is Eric Frank Grosse Jr., 74, of Rockville.
In accordance to police, officers from the Bethesda district and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel were being called to the intersection of Tuckerman Lane and Kings Riding Way at all over 10 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators feel that Grosse had been jogging southbound on Tuckerman Lane when he was struck by a driver heading westbound on Tuckerman Lane. The driver, who police say was running a 2019 Subaru Forester, struck Grosse in a crosswalk.

Police say the crosswalk has a “push-to-activate pedestrian sign.” Investigators are working to determine “whether or not the sign was activated.”
MCPD says the driver of the Subaru remained at the scene subsequent the collision. Grosse was taken to a hospital in which he died from his injuries.
Law enforcement said the Subaru driver is a gentleman but did not identify him.
